What does this code P1053 change in MAP reading out of limits on my vehicle mean? What is the fix?

Hi,

The code is specific to bank 1 sensor 2 intake valve control solenoid. It is located on the passenger side valve cover at the rear of the cover.

The code indicates an open circuit which simply means the wire is disconnected, or damaged, the sensor has failed internally, or it could be related to the PCM.

I attached a pic below showing the component's location. Disconnect the connector and inspect it for any corrosion, damage, or damage to the wire itself.

Additionally, the remaining pics are the diagnostics for the code. Take a look through them and let me know if you are comfortable performing them.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
