The car listed above is an SE model.

The car on driving after warmup throws out a DTC code P0657 Powertrain error. Prior to the error message the car drives fine, accelerates and shifts fine. Automatic Transmission.

Upon receiving the error message P0657 the car goes into limp mode that allows me to get the car home. I understand the features of the safety mode but prior to this it had been acting fine. When I research the code further it indicates an "Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit/ Open. It reports the primary fix as "Repair Wire harness at Transmission."

Another fix listed on the report is "Repair Transmission Main Connector Wiring"

I can clear the code with my scanner, and it runs fine, no trouble with the transmission at all. Shifts fine, Goes into reverse fine. I cannot image that the transmission is bad.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I would start by checking the battery voltage and then all of the fuses.

This guide can help:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

The P0657 DTC refers to an issue with the "Actuator Supply Voltage 'A' Circuit/Open."

If the fuses and battery are okay, I would say the PCM is bad, there are no "Actuators" inside the transmission, only sensors and shift solenoids. I have left the location and instructions on how to change out the PCM, you can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you for your quick reply. I will definitely keep you posted and thank you for the information. So, if it’s the PCM would it need to be reprogrammed to match the car? And would it be a safe assumption that there isn’t anything mechanically wrong with the transmission then?

Kind regards

I don't know, the person I was helping did not get back to me, we help people for free and they don't even have the decency to let us know. Can I ask if you have a battery light on while driving, also how new is the battery? This code is telling us there can be a fuse out or the main PCM is bad. Have you checked the fuses?

Thanks for replying. I just change the battery and alternator like 2 weeks ago, they checked the wiring and PCM, they told me maybe the problem is inside the transmission valve body… I don't know.
