Code P0496?

Replaced switch/purge solenoid. Check engine light remained. Do I need to clear the code, or will the code clear itself after normal driving cycle?

If I clear code and code comes back what are some other avenues to troubleshoot?

The gas cap is not loose and seal is still good condition.
