P0442 Code?

Best to just buy one at a auto part store and chang it yourself or any regular shop should be able to do it cheaply ..its common gotta get the old one off and bring it in to get the right size but its cheap usually about $5 to $10 they sell it by the foot not sure how much youl need but they can cut whever length you need of you never changed the gas cap you might want to look at that too most evap leaks are simply be uas of an old gas cap....anyway good luck hope this helps

addressing a couple of points...

-> technician at the chevy place outright stated there is no replacement available. None from GM as they changed design and quit making the old ones appx 3 yrs ago.

-> The repair receptionist stated she looked for anything that offered it as an aftermarket approved by GM as being feasible. I confirmed this at home before I posted the original question. All the usual car parts online shops noted for that old of a Chevy spark, there was nada/zio/etc that would work.

Now being bold, I look at reddit car repair forums a bit. Best advice they gave was to try and repair.. or disable the EVAP solenoid completely. Ummm no on the disable.

have looking through auto savage forums. no bueno.

so, looks I drive it until it won't start completely .. or spend some coin on a diffwrent vehicle.

The code 8s for a tiny pin hole of a leak its amd evap problems dont effect the way it runs to much you won't evan n8t8ce anything except for the code that said its usually a simple hose the easy to get a d you just plug it in and thats it maybe its a special hose for some reason ..I you find the leak wich is gonna be hard to do maybe be uase its gonna be small you could just oatch it with rubber cement ir somthing and youl proba ly neve see that cide again is my guess but first you gotta find it a d take it of just pull off in sure unless they put special plug-ins on it ..if you find it pleas post a phiti here so we can see what it evan is we're talking about there lots of different type of hoses on the car but im sure its gonna be a pretty easy fix hope this helps good luck
