P0404 code

My vehicle is showing this code after replacing faulty egr valve. My mechanic reset computer and the light came back. I know it may be a valve position sensor. How would I go about replacing the sensor?

before you do that do what i am sending in a tip, like disconnecting battery then clearing to reset the values in the sensor...................................................................
