Car has a new battery, new plugs, new camshaft sensor. It turns over but will not start. Still getting a p0342 code. Any ideas? This car is new to us and we out know any history behind its maintenance. It came with no battery and very wet inside. It now has a battery and car is dry inside and out.

342 is cam sensor and may be reason not starting see picture it is for bank 1 which is intake unless this is a convertible and or supercharged. It may be a wiring or PCM issue as well, but sensors normally go bad first. it is the one marked 13.

Look at your camshaft chain. Mine was showing the same code turns out cam chain stretched and the guides had shattered common fault on mini.
