I need to know how I should go about fixing the issue, considering I am going to be repairing it myself. What are my options and price ranges?

Good afternoon.

I would start by doing a compression test in the cylinder to be sure there nothing wrong in the engine.

Check the plugs for excessive wear.
Make sure the wiring to the coil and the injector are connected. Look at the coil boot. See if there are any white marks on the boot. If there is, that is electric leaking and that may be the issue.

The injector needs to be checked for voltage and to see if the PCM is turning on the injector. That is tested with a noid light that you can rent at a parts store.

Check for vacuum leaks.

There are a number of ways to approach this, but the best place to start is probably by replacing the spark plugs, especially if it is due for a tune-up. Erase the fault code, then if it sets again, Ford has had a common problem on some of their engines with defective ignition coils. This applies to the "coil-on-plug" design where there is a separate ignition coil on top of each spark plug. One test is to switch the coils between cylinder number two and one other cylinder, erase the fault code, then see if it sets again for the same cylinder or the one you moved the suspect coil to.
