2. I did buy a fuel pressure test kit (love buying tools) and the pressure was spot on.
3. Vacuum leaks. I have gone through countless carburetor cleaner cans looking for any difference and have found nothing, did see a video of someone using a smoker to see if it gets sucked in over the top of the head and have not tried that.
4. My bad about the MAF comment. So many sensors replaced, I have forgotten their location, (again over six months when I have the time) I used a shotgun approach witch may have been my downside (replacing and not resetting?). I rethink now it maybe the EGR valve that is under the intake manifold that is about the only thing I have not replaced.
5. I also bought a scope to look inside the cylinders and found no pitting on the valves. Cool tool again. Cheap on Amazon.
6. No the engine light never flashes, only lights once and then I look down and notice it. Odd thing is that I got this vehicle from my good friend (was used for his business) it had a GPS device installed to check on the employed driving daily. I had read somewhere that the Ford Escape's, could be sensitive to adding new electronics the wrong places. Could not find the GPS unit until I called the installer Finally found where it was mounted just above the speedometer, removed, all ran clear for 10 minutes then same problem. Only removed the devise not the harness?
7. I have a OB2 scanner and am primarily using the Torque Pro app currently. I had attached the snapshot of the P0301 when last happened today to the original email, 21 minutes into driving.
I hope this helps and am happy to donate to this website but have not been asked at this point. I am pretty sure I will be dropping the car at a shop early next week, but am weary about where to actually do so. I live in SLC Utah. Not a favor of the dealer and have been bitten many times.
Sincerely,
Bman
