I have a p000b fault code on my vehicle listed above. Oil is all good. Is it likely the sensor and is it okay to drive until I can book time off work to fix?

Hello,

Code P000B
B Camshaft Position Slow Response Bank 1
This refers to the exhaust camshaft being slow to react to timing changes.
There are quite a few reasons why this code can set.

Improper oil supply
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Failed oil control valve
Failed VVT actuator
Timing chain problems
Wiring problems
Faulty PCM

A quick check is to listen to the engine on cold start up. This should be checked at first start up in the morning. Listen for any rattling/clatter noise . If this noise is evident then you most likely have a stretched timing chain. This is quite common on the type of engine fitted to your vehicle

An example of the timing chain noise:

Please let us know how you get along.

Cheers, Boris
