My car seems to only overheats when driven. I let my car sit and idle for an hour or better with the heat on full car running and no overheating, but soon as I pull off driving it starts overheating. I have changed the water pump thermostat and the radiator a year ago. I am not understanding it! It starts up fine and idles with the engine sounding fine and the fans are on. Soon as I pull off within ten minutes it starts overheating.

Have it pressure checked for leaks may be a head gasket auto parts may rent it. Also, they have a chemical additive that can be put in coolant to see if it is that. These were susceptible to pulling the head bolts out of engine block especially if mix was more than 50/50 mix.
