When driving on the highway the car begins to overheat, when driven on local roads it stays at regular operating temperature. When it begins to overheat if I put the car in neutral the temperature gauge quickly drops down back to regular operating temperature but as soon as I put the car back in drive the needle steadily climbs back up to ‘hot’ it only happens when I maintain a higher rate of speed, 70 mph or more. Haven’t done any recent work on the car other than tie rods and brakes.
I tried turning the heater on to keep it from overheating but no hot air comes out, not even warm air. Could my heater core be the issue?
