I bought a car that had the water pump replaced. They also installed a new thermostat. It still gets hot. I am thinking the radiator cap might be the wrong one or the fans are not running like they should. Cannot seem to figure it out. Could the thermostats be faulty?

Hello,

It sounds like you might have an issue with the cooling fan.
You might want to check the radiator fan relay.
This vehicle has 2 fan relays one for low the speed and other for high speed fan.
As you mentioned one of the fan is not working properly you might have a faulty relay.
The relay is located under the hood in the fuse block (see diagram).
Inspect relay for any corrosion or burnt pin.
You can also test the relay.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
