Overheating issue

Hi,

I have to start by asking if the engine is truly overheating or does it seem to be just the gauge in the vehicle?

As far as the water pump, try this. When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap so you can see the coolant. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temp. Once that happens, you should be able to see the coolant flowing through the system.

As far as testing the CHT, you will need to unplug it and check resistance. If you look at pic 1, it shows the resistance that should be found based on temp.

If the sensor is bad, here are the directions for replacing it. The attached pics correlate with the directions.

Removal and Installation

1. Detach the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor cover and position aside.

2. Disconnect the CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) sensor electrical connector.

3. Remove the CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) sensor.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
