I have the car listed above that I just bought a few months ago. My front bumper was loose and while driving on the highway it fell off and dragged for a short time under the car. I removed the bumper and continued my trip. I don’t know if it happened immediately but about an hour later, I noticed I had no power to my heater or A/C. Figured it was a fuse. A few days later I noticed my car started overheating within a few minutes of being on. I have checked the fuses and changed the thermostat, refilled the coolant after changing the thermostat and still have the problem. Any idea what it might be? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Does it overheat if you are driving at highway speeds, or does it seem more likely to happen in stop and go traffic?

If it is stop and go traffic, pay attention to see if the cooling fan is turning on. You may have damaged a wire when the bumper came apart.

Let me know.

It happens in either situation. The fans are not turning on at all. Do you think it is worth it to change the temperature sensor?

Hi,

If you aren't getting power, the sensor isn't a likely cause. I need to know if this is a 4 or 6 cylinder. Have you checked fuses to confirm none are bad?

Let me know the engine size so I can look through the correct wiring schematic.

Take care,

Joe
