Hello, two days ago my car has been overheating. I picked up a new thermostat and out it in. I have no heat at all. Still gets hot, coolant was bubbling from over tank but when I pushed down on the radiator cap it stopped, but soon as I let go of it it started again. Do you think I need a new cap? Other then that it runs great.

Good afternoon,

Yes, it could be the cap.

My concern is the bubbling. it may have a damaged head gasket and it is leaking compression into the cooling system. that would also explain the no heat as well.

My honda civic had the same issue. I had to replace the head gasket unfortunately.

Before assuming a head gasket, replace the cap and re test.

Then if it still does it you will need to get a leak down test done to confirm the gasket is leaking. Then you can feel confident that is the issue without guessing.
