Which gasket are you referring to? Also, here is a link that discusses the cooling system, how to check for leaks (if you have one) and how to replace a thermostat:

If the gasket you referred to is the head gasket and you suspect there is a problem with it, here is a link that shows how to check for a head gasket leak:
