Make sure the cooling fan or fans do run when the engine gets hot. To even eliminate the possibility or air still in the cooling system and the chance that the thermostat is sticking. I would just remove the thermostat for now and see if it stops overheating. If it does, then replace the thermostat again. If it does still overheat, leave the thermostat out for now, then move onto trying something else, possibly suspecting the water pump just cannot produce the volume of coolant flow that the engine needs and replace it.
