I change hoses, and check radiator, water pump, and change fan, still running hot. Took the thermostat out and still running hot. Does the thermostat help the fan come on or does it comes on when car running?Fan not coming on with thermostat out.

Hello,

This could be a problem with your vehicle's Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (ECT). Your vehicle's Power train Control Module (PCM) uses the signal from the ECT to control your fans as needed. If the sensor or the connector going to the sensor or the wires going to the gauge have problems, then the temperature gauge could read erratically. In the diagrams down below I have included factory instruction on how to test your vehicle's ECT. It will require you to use a multi-meter and where it says yellow probe they mean the red or positive one. I have included a link below for you if you are unfamiliar with how to use one.

Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
