Is it low on coolant? If so get a cooling system pressure test done to help locate any external leaks. Remove and test thermostat and check for hot/cold spots in radiator. This can be circulation problems and just make sure that the fans are operation, but I feel that over heating so quickly it will not be a fan issue at this time. If all these are okay, get a head check done to test for exhaust gasses in the cooling system, if so this will be a head gasket or head problem.
