my reservoir tank wont drain back to rad replaced thermostat and radiator cap didn't help had vacuum test done was told it was head gasket but there is no signs of that no white smoke no signs of oil contamination when i went to remove reservoir to check it when i lifted it up to look at then the coolant drained into rad this seemed weird I'm not sure if it is head gasket but i would like your thoughts on this. Thank you.

Yes, if you have a very small failure it will blow exhaust bubbles into the cooling system to confirm the issue you can do a chemical check which this video can help you with, Also please remove the radiator cap and inspect the radiator upper tank where the cap connects to, it if is damaged or dirty it will not seal against the cap therefore not pulling coolant back into the system. Check the integrity of the return hose as well.
