My SUV started overheating while in drive. It will go all the way up to just before the red line then stops pretty much. It only does this while accelerating. The heat/air will blow hot sometimes and cold some. However, while in park while running the temperature goes back down. I am thinking hose or leak but have not had the chance tonight to look, it just started.
