My Truck is overheating and I don't have any heat. My vents just blow cold air. I'm sure I need to replace my water pump. How Difficult?

Is the waterpump leaking or making noise? Have you tried replacing the thermostat? Flush cooling system, heater core?

If the waterpump isn't leaking or making noise, chances are it is fine. And it is a somewhat big job to replace.

Let me know about the other things first.

The water pump is leaking and making noise. But I only noticed it after driving then parking the truck and coming out to see a puddle underneath.

Okay. I just didn't want you to replace it because it is a big job and takes time. Basically, you need to remove most of the parts from the front of the engine, the radiator, fan, shroud, serp belt and accessories it runs, and a lot of disconnecting of things such as trans cooling lines, rad hoses, wiring.

For me to try to tell you step by step instructions via the internet allows too much room for error. If you want, I can try to find something. Or, you may want to find a repair manual that provides step by step instructions and pictures to identify parts. They offer one online on this site. Check it out and let me know.
