either have a mechanic pressure check for a head gasket problem or rent one at auto parts and pressurize cooling system after it is full. if you see no external leaks and pressure drops then it may be a head gasket problem. there is also a chemical additive you can buy at auto parts to check for a head gasket that changes color either one is good.
