Overheating

My car overheated on me last night. I changed the thermostat. No change. Now my heater does not work! Is the water pump bad?

Did you bleed all the air from the cooling system? are the fans coming on? what range is the temperature gauge on the dash showing when hot? is it in the normal range you normally see?
