Idle all day, drive for twenty to thirty minutes, it overheats shuts down. My temperature gauge I do not think works. I have done checked to see if the coolant was running through the block, which seems to be fine. The radiator hold pressure just fine. Coolant fan just fine. I checked the fan to see if it may the clutch going out, not for sure, the fan does not spin for very long. As far as the thermostat goes checking in on it. Coolant levels fine, oil last time I checked was fine, which was not to too long after about fifteen to twenty minutes. Do not really know where else to go with it, I am stuck.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Does it overheat if you are driving it at highway speed? If not, the fan is not doing what it should in stop and go traffic. If it still overheats and everything is good, then I suspect the thermostat. Also, you mentioned the temp gauge may not be working. What is the gauge indicating when it overheats?

Here is a quick link showing how to replace the thermostat:

Let me know about conditions when overheating.

Take care,
Joe
