After the engine gets warm everything looks fine. Temperature gauge reads good, fan comes on, but when you shut the engine off coolant boils from overflow.

Hello, I am Danny.

Has the radiator cap ever been replaced? I suggest using a cooling system pressure tester to see if the cap is within specifications. Auto part stores have tool loaner programs to rent these. The tester comes with an adapter to test radiator caps. Caps have a certain preset PSI (usually 10-20) spring that will release system pressure when specific cap PSI rating is reached releasing it into overflow container.
