ASSUMING YOUR COOLANT LEVEL IS GOOD.

ARE THE COOLING FANS RUNNING WHEN THE GAUGE IS GOING UP?

YOU CAN CHECK THIS BY DRIVING AROUND THE BLOCK A FEW TIMES THEN LETTING IT RUN IN YOUR DRIVEWAY TO SEE IF THEY ARE RUNNING.

Checked for blocked radiator, and check sufficient air flow through radiator as well, you may have a blocked core internally or externally, start here.
