I assembled the outer tie rod by watching a how to video. Now when I drive it, the wheel returns properly when I turn to the left but when I turn to the right I have to manually turn it back. What did I do wrong?

I'm not sure what replacing a tie rod would have done to cause this. Was the vehicle alignment check after the work was done?
