We are at a roadblock! Our truck listed above has been great until last Monday. Itshut off in traffic and would sometimes restart and shut off right away other times it would run for awhile. Thinking due to the age it must be the fuel pump going out. Replaced it and same issues. First time we start it it takes about 30 minutes or more to shut off, after that it barely runs and sometimes wont start at all. We looked up and found the truck has a known issue with the ECM relay so since it was cheap we thought why not still same problem. Managed to have AutoZone run the codes and came up with the camshaft position sensor a and something about low catalytic pressure I think. They said the camshaft position sensor is bad. Fine replaced it. Now the second we took it out the truck will no longer start. We tried the old one, nothing even got a second new one. Nothing. We then read the IPDM can go out and throw codes like that so we bought a used one that was tested and nothing. We went back to the camshaft position sensor and realized the inside was broken so we replaced the connector. Still nothing. We are out of ideas at this point.

Hello,

If this is a problem with the Camshaft Position Sensor[CMP], then it could also be a problem with the wires going from the CMP to the Engine Control Unit[ECU], or the "computer". In the diagrams down below I have included the power-train management wiring diagrams, a guide on how to find opens in an automotive electrical circuit, and a description of how the CMP circuit works in your vehicle. You will need to use a Digital Multi-meter to go through these guides, so here is a link below explaining how to use one:

Also, is there any way you can send us the exact Direct Trouble Code[DTC][s] that you pulled from your vehicle. Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you find out and the DTC's and we can go from there.

Thanks,
Alex
