Let me start from the beginning. First thing we keep having to replace the ipr like every 4-6 months in our truck. This last time we had issues with it was not starting. My husband used starting fluid on it or something and it would start. Then we went grocery shopping and when we came out and tried starting truck using starting fluid, it started and idled. As soon as he pressed the gas pedal it died. We did this a few more times and we sat and waited for his son. When he got there about 10 minutes, they messed around under the hood trying to start it, it started, and we drove it home. A week later we are driving, and we slow down to talk to someone we know and when we go to take off again it shuts off as soon as he touches the gas pedal. We got a friend to pull us home.
We replace the ipr and it starts on its own but it’s idle sounds rough like I can’t even explain it. Never heard a vehicle sound this way. It almost sounded like it was trying to shut off.
It now is throwing all kinds of codes. Seems like it is throwing every sensor code or module code there is. I honestly think there is a short somewhere.
Oh yeah, in the mornings it will start on its own, no problem, but from then on it needs to have assistance.
Hopefully I haven’t forgotten anything.
