2000 Other Opel Models Difficulty in Starting

My car is opel zafira, 2.0 diesel engine, computerised.
It is difficult to start when it's cold. Its starts after several attempts. It normally happens in the morning and when it has been packed for some hours during the day. A thick grey smoke emits from the exhaust when it starts and stops after moving a few kilometers.
Please, what is wrong with my car?
