2007 Opel Astra 220 miles

When i start the car, there is a sign that persistently stays on the dashboard. Mechanics say it signifies a faulty engine others say it's a problem with the starter. Sometimes the car has to be pushed to crank the engine. The sign looks like this image with a stop inscribed in it. Please should i replace the starter or is it a different problem all together.[img:1f64292a74]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/447050_warning_lights_1.jpg[/img:1f64292a74]

This light (malfunction indicator light)is telling you the car has stored a fault code in the cars computer ..this code will tell you or a technician where the fault on your vehicle is located ..Replace the starter motor and have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to retrieve the code and repost with code for more assistance and repair advice
