2005 Opel Astra Petrol cut-off and engine light.

Good day

When I have about 3000 km before I take my car for its next service, it starts to cut-back on the petrol (which I feel when accelerating) and sometimes just switches off. Sometimes, I also get that light with a spanner attached diagonally to a car. And when that light comes on, it becomes worse on the petrol cutting back!
Why is this happening? I mean sometimes people exceeds their car's next service a little bit, but it seems impossible with my car.

Please help.

yu need to have the vehicle plugged into a diagnostic computer to locate the cause of the fault
