car lacking power and misfiring.coil pack is ok.when put on handheld diagnostics the only fault showing up misfire.i understand egr valve gives trouble but cant see it,any advice welcome.

start by changing the spark plugs and leads and double check the coil pack !.. remove and clean or replace the CKP (crankshaft position) sensor .. after this you are looking at a possible injector fault on the missing cylinder .. add a good fuel cleaner to the tank to clean the injectors .... EGR valve does not generally cause a misfire fault !! hope this helps
