I need help identifying the meaning of an off/ on switch?

On the left-hand side of my steering wheel i have a small switch that has off/ on written next to it, but I do not know what the switch does nor if i should have it switched on or off. If anyone could help me this would be great.

Most likely it is some add on the previous owner added, like fog or driving lights or something similar. The best way to figure it out would be to pull the trim panel under the steering column and then look for the wiring at the switch and follow it to where it runs. It could also be some other add-on like heated seats.
