2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

can you replace the left rear brake cylinder just by releasing the brake shoe springs and pull aWay the brake shoes?

Hi:
Yes, remove the brake shoes, then the wheel cylender is bolted from the back of the backing plate. Just remove the brake line first.
