I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, radiator cap and flushed the system with a sealant for possible head gasket leak. The temp gauge flucuates like the speedometer. The system keeps getting air and I have taken it to the garage and they keep bleeding the system and it works for awhile then the gauge gets crazy again. I don't think it actually overheats even though the gauge indicates it because it has never boiled over or smelled hot or uses any water out of the resevoir. The last place I took it to was a GM dealer and they did the same thing bled the system. Do you have any suggestions?

I am having similar issues with the temp gauge on a 1998 Silhouette. I have not tried all the things you did, but I came here looking for a solution.
