1995 Oldsmobile Regency miss

Engine misses when load not applied. Have changed plugs and wires and even (based on diagnositc testing) changed the intake manifold.

Hi:
Have you scanned the computer for codes? Many parts stores will scan it for free, so there is no out of pocket expense. Try that and let me know if you find anything.

Thanks for your response. Yeah, I did have it scanned, that's where I got the apparently false info that my intake manifold was cracked. It's kind of baffeling. I did have two guys suggest that it could be just a fuel filter, so that's what I'm doing now.

Hi:

A fuel filter won't hurt, but you said it misses when it's not under a load. I would think a miss under a load would be more to identify a lack of fuel.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Check the EGR valve to make sure it's not stuck. That would cause a leak and a miss.

Let me know. Also, if you want to check fuel pressure, let me know and I'll provide the directions for you.
