My '94 oldsmobile achieva use to be my pride and joy but now its sucking me dry. I have replaced the alternator, radiatior and themostat within the last few months. I even had to charge my battery which costed me and replaced a gasket for the themostat. Now I Get up this morning and the darn car wont stay started. Lights and everything else work but once I take my foot off of the gas the car dies out. Not to mention my ex boyfriend did some work on my old radiator and lost my intake valve hose for my engine and now I'm getting some cream colored foamy type substance on my oil dip stick that won't go away even when I get my oil changed. My oil feels like its diluted too. I'm at my ends wits with this car. I need some major advice fast. It has 175,208 miles on it. Its a four cylinder engine. PLEASE HELP ME! GOING CRAZY IN DENVER COLORADO.

That white milky substance on the dip stick sounds like antifreeze is getting into the oil caused by a blown head gasket or cracked block. Are you adding antifreeze and don't know where it is going. This is another sign that the head gasket is gone. If this is the case, considering the age, mileage and the cost to fix the problem it is not worth fixing the vehicle.

Yeah I am sure I know where the antifreeze goes lol. Since I have replaced the radiator the antifreeze has been staying at a good level. I just had a gasket replaced not even two weeks ago. Just a few nights ago I decided to see if my car would stay started and it did. I took it a round the block and my car made it! So tonight I decided to take it to work which is not even 10 mins up the street and it started up and stayed started up for awhile until I got to the 7-11 to get my lunch and thats when it happend! Freaking car started dying out on me as soon as I started it back up. The only way I made it to work was by putting the car in nuetural and then quickly put it in drive and hitting the gas. I bearly made it to work toniight because everytime I had to slow down for a turn or stop at a light it died 0n me! If this car is not worth fixing then what should I do? Sell it or junk it. I'm at a lost and I dont have the cash right off back to buy another one. PLease help me.

Before you can answer the question of what to do about transportation you need to know what it costs to fix it. Once that is known, you have to ask" can I buy another car for the same price as the cost of the repair? And will I know what other needs I'll have if I change the car versus what currant needs mine has now?
