I have a 1991 oldsmobile cutlass ciera 3.3 liter v6 with 95,000 miles. I just recently had the gas tank, sending unit and fuel filter replaced. Just recently I noticed a strong smell of gas when the car is running, it seems to come from the exhaust. Is it possible the oxyen sensor is faulty causing the engine to run to rich? Any help with be appreciated.

Did the smell coincide with the gas tank work?
See if they replaced the fill tube when they did the rest of it, at your cars age you will start to rust at the tube!

I did notice the smell prior to having the work done. At the time I had asumed it was the gas tank because it was leaking. I only smell the gas when the car is running, after I turn off the car the smell goes away.
