Bogs down when put in gear

1988 4cyl. Auto. Car idles good but when put in gear it bogs down and runs rough. Iv changed spark plugs, and plug wires. Any idea what could be wrong?

Fuel pump may be weak. I would check the pressure and volume of fuel flow. It may not be able to handle the higher rpm commands by the extra load.
