Air conditioning blend door

I have a '97 olds aurora 4.0 with 127k. Drivers side A/C is approx. 10 degrees warmer than passenger side. The car has dual climate control. Thru web search I've learned I might have a bad computer unit in the a/c system or a stuck actuator/blend door. How do I determine which? This is a cheap business car for me so I don't care about dual climate control. Can I eliminate the blend door? Where is it located? Is it "upstream" of the heater core? Can I get a cheap replacement computer module if necessary? As of writing this half my interior pieces are laying across my front yard. Would a hand grenade work?

A grenade is the easy way out LOL. The blend door is usually at the bottom of the plenum box.I would lean toward a weak actuator motor or possibly something like a pen or the such has fallen down the defroster and is wedged in the door keeping it from closing all the way. Most of the time if it does go cold and hot, the controller is working, just not something on the other end of it
