I am not familiar with this car at all and my friend asked me to help him. It is a 1992 Oldsmobile 88 with 126K miles and a 3800 engine. One day the car did not start. I checked the engine and found out there is no spark. After researching I have found that the crankshaft position sensor can sometimes be at fault... Could this be it, and can I check before trying to replace it? I do not know how to check any of the elec sys for the spark, so any ideas or solutions would be helpful.
Thank you, Eric

Check the CPS resistances should read 900 to 1200 ohms.
