2002 Other Oldsmobile Models 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 93,000 miles

I have a Noise comming from the front drivers side and someone told me it was the air pump

Nope no air pump is it a clacking noise while turning?
A constant roar maybe goes away while turning?
