2001 alero w/v6 and auto transmission has a brake warning light displayed even though the brakes work normally.

If it's the red light check the master cylinders reservoir, if its low the brakes need to be done! As the pads wear, the fluid empties from the master to the calipers, when enough fluid displaces, the light comes on.
