2000 Other Oldsmobile Models 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I am replacing the headgaskets on a 2000 Olds. Intrige withe a 3.5 ltr. Twin cam V-6. While I was removing the head bolts, I noticed that several of the bolts had aluminom from the block. After having cleaned the block and having the heads machined ibegan to torque them down (22 ft. Lb.). Well on the left side the first top far right bolt tightened, but had that feal that next turn or so it was going to give. Sure enugh it did. I had the same problom on the right side difrent bolt. What do you recomend should be done. I was thinking of useing a heiligh coil only ive never actualy used this kind of repaire. I am not sure if this would even be apropriate or durable. I would hate to do this and have the care breake down some where.

Hi there,

I feel that a Helli coil will do the job, if you try and go to an over size bolt you may not get one to fit the head drilling, so more expense, the only thing would do is try and find out the max torque loading for the size helli coil to be used, not sure where you would find that infomation sorry.
