1995 Old Cutlass Ciera --- Daughters engine locked up 2 months ago; bought used 3.1 motor and had mechanic install. drove 7 days (about 160 miles) and the check engine soon light came on; took to mechanic and the code was for torque converter so they said I need to have the torque converter replaced at a trany shop. One the way to the trany mechanic the car slipped from 4th gear to 3rd gear....which is why they said they replaced torque converter and TCC switch. Picked up car and drove it 50 miles to see if it would slip gears. at 65 mph the car slipped out of over drive to drive (i believe), tried slowing down and slowly picking up speed and it would not shift back to OD. Took back to mechanic...he called and said it may be a bad switch. I feel like I need to sell the car....have WAY too much money in car to sell but scared it will never be right. Can you shed any light on this dark issue for me?

take it back, if the guy is honest he should replace the switch for free if it's bad. Of course ther coudl be something else wrong. But he should check that as well.....
