THREE WEEKS AGO I REPLACED THE UPPER AND LOWER MANIFOLD GASKETS ON MY 1994 REGENCY 98. I DROVE THE CAR ABOUT 600 MILES AND IT STARTED LOSING POWER AND MISFIRING. I HAD THE CAT CONVERTER CHECKED OUT AND IT WAS BAD. I HAD IT REPLACED AND IT STILL WAS MISSING. I REPLACED ALL THE SPARK PLUGS AND NO CHANGE. AFTER DARK I SPRAYED WATER ON THE COIL PACKS AND PLUG WIRES TO SEE IF ANY SPARKS WERE NOTICED AND THERE WASN'T ANY. ANY HELP?

Do you have a check engine light? When you replaced the gaskets did you disconnect the battery?

Get your fuel pressure check and comeback with the readings this is where we start the diagnosis

Or you can try the idle air control valve/throttle position sensor/MAP/MAF sensors

I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM. I HAD THE HARMONIC BALANCER REPLACED 4 MONTHE AGO AND THE NEW ONE CAME APART. WHEN IT DID IT TOOK OUT THE CRANK SENSOR AND MADE THE CAR MISFIRE ON TWO CYLINDERS. WORD OF CAUTION.I BOUGHT THE BALANCER AT O'RILEYS AND THEY HAVE A RECALL ON THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA AND ARE JUNK. BUYER BEWARE, BUY GENUINE PARTS FROM THE DEALER UNLESS YOU WANT THE PROBLEMS THAT I HAD. NOW THE CAR RUNS FINE AND NO PROBLEMS.
