My 91 Olds Regency 98 runs extremely smooth until all of a sudden it will quit. If you leave it set for 30 minutes or so, it will start right up and run great again until it decides to quit again. I ran into this problem with a 92 Buick Park Ave and it was some sort of sensor on the engine (not an oxygen sensor), what is that sensor called?

Hi:
There are many sensors. Take your pick: Mass Air flow sensor, MAP sensor, Throttle position sensor, Crankshaft sensor, Cam sensor.

Have you had the computer scanned for codes? To me it sounds like a bad ignition module. It is the small black square item mounted in the bottom of the distributor.

Let me know if this helps.

Joe
