1986 Other Oldsmobile Models speedo buries itself

86 olds 98 v6 440 trans.when u drive car speedo goes right to 85 mph.replaced speed sensor on trans and buffer under dash and dash assy with speedo head.checked grounds and are ok, any ideas,im stumped.

Sounds like a wiring problem between the VSS and the dash . Try checking continuity to ground on both wires with a meter at the VSS
